Art and Craft Classes

 

Spring Session begins the week of 4/1  and runs for 10 weeks.

CHILDREN  

WEDNESDAY 

Fun with the Masters – Learn about some of the Great Masters in art and explore their painting techniques, including Michelangelo, DaVinci, & Cezanne. We make art fun while learning about different periods in art history from the Renaissance to Modern and Contemporary Art. Instructor – Christy Bensley 

2:30-3:30 pm   $225 (all supplies included) 

3:30-4:30 pm.   Grade 1+  $225 (all supplies included). 

Creative Canvas - Students of all levels are welcome in this class. Students will learn about basic painting techniques and design as they use acrylic paint to create beautiful paintings. Students will create artwork inspired by famous artists; Wassily Kandinsky, Walter Anderson, Stuart Davis and Wolf Kahn. We will also design an Australian Aboriginal inspired painting and an abstract flower painting.

5:00-6:00 pm.   Grade 2+ $225 (all supplies included).  

THURSDAY 

Peewee Picasso – Paint, paper, clay and so much more! Your little Picasso will complete colorful works of art as we explore different techniques and mediums each week for 45 minutes of creative fun! 

10:30-11:15 am Ages 3 -5  $200 (all supplies included). 

12:30-1:15 pm Ages 3 -5  $200 (all supplies included). 

Little Leonardo’s – This is a stimulating and nurturing class where individual creativity is encouraged. Our young artists will explore different techniques and mediums as they work with paint, oil pastels, wire, recycled items, Paper Mache and more. 

1:30-2:30 pm Ages 5-6  $225(all supplies included).  

Kid Crafters – This popular class features mixed media projects where your child will challenge their imagination creating unique and imaginative works of art using paint, recycled items, elements from nature, paper, clay, wire, Paper Mache, duct tape and more. 

3:30-4:30 pm Grades 1-5 $225 (all supplies included)

ADULTS

Have you always wanted to take an art class?  Using the medium of your choice, enjoy some music and the company of other artists, while you learn from our experienced instructors and work on your own composition. 

TUESDAY 

Adult Painting Open Studio - All levels are welcome in this class – from the beginner to the advanced. Work at your own pace as you learn how to mix and set up your color palette. You will learn to “see” the simple shapes in your composition, and understand how light and dark determine tones of color. Students will be introduced to the under-painting method, various brush stroke techniques, and so much more. Our instructor – Mary Anne Faneuf will share her love of the impressionistic painting style and show you how to simply have fun with paint. You choose the medium, oil or acrylic paint. Supply list will be given upon registration. 

7-9:00 pm 10 weeks – $250 

WEDNESDAY 

Adult Open Studio - Students of all levels are welcome in this class, from the very beginner (someone who has always thought about taking a class) to the experienced artist. You choose your medium; pencils, pastels, watercolors or acrylics. We will work from still life and photos while learning basic techniques, color mixing and application. Instructor and professional artist, Mary Preble, has years of experience working with adults and children, and will bring out the Monet, Van Gogh or Picasso in you! Supply list will be given upon registration. 

10 am-12 pm 10 weeks – $250
