Elaine Trepicchio and Katie Blue Nagy are the creative force behind MA&D. Between the two of us, we have degrees and professional experience in Art History, Fashion Illustration, Graphic Design and Advertising, Mural and Decorative Painting, as well as a lifetime of enjoying all that is crafty. We are most happy while creating, and at Metamorphosis you will more than likely catch us in the middle of a project, tool in hand! Paint brush, scissors, pastels, markers, needle & thread, camera, staple gun, hammer or drill – every project is unique and our creative solutions follow suit.

We are lucky to have a tremendous amount of support and encouragement from our families – great husbands and great kids (Elaine has 2 boys, and Katie has 3 girls!), and great friends complete the picture. Life is short….we all need to surround ourselves with things that make us smile. People, music, good food, and of course, a fabulous piece of art from Metamorphosis Art and Design!! Enjoy!

OUR PRODUCT: Starting with hand cut wood or a piece of furniture, we apply papers and paint and a thick coat of resin to create a one-of-a-kind work of art. We love designing with color, patterns and textures to bring each creation to life. You can choose from a number of existing designs, which are displayed in our studio as well as on this website, or we can work with you to create your very own MA&D custom piece. You can be a part of the process by choosing the perfect colors to match your own decor. And because we work with a local carpenter, we can make these pieces any size or shape you need. The sky is the limit!

PRODUCT CARE:  The resin product we use is non-toxic and safe to use with food. It cleans easily with warm soap and water or a glass cleaner. It should never be put in the dishwasher or submerged in water. Because resin is a plastic, it can tolerate slight heat, but it is not intended to be used as a hot plate. High temperatures will damage the surface. This product should not be displayed outdoors or in direct sunlight as the colors may be effected over time.
